The Iconic Welcome to Las Vegas sign is a photo-op must do.

Now that travel is reopening, you are probably itching to get away. But, with restrictions still in place for some of our favorite travel destinations, you might be looking into domestic travel for 2021. Never fear, the U.S. has many amazing destinations for you. While Disney destinations are an LBAC favorite for family travel, nothing beats Las Vegas for an adult getaway!

Las Vegas is often referred to the “Entertainment Capital of the World”, and with good reason. With luxury resorts that have spas, day clubs, amazing pools, night clubs, shows, dining, and, of course, gambling there is always something to do in Las Vegas. Even though many Americans have traveled to Las Vegas, most only think of visiting “The Strip” and have only stayed there when traveling to Las Vegas. But, Las Vegas has another side that has been undergoing a major revitalization in the last several years, that side is Downtown Las Vegas.

The new $32 million Fremont Street canopy and light show.

The revitalization of Downtown Las Vegas has been amazing. The two highlights of the new Downtown Las Vegas are the canopy and light show that are part of the Fremont Street Experience and the newest Las Vegas resort, Circa.

In 2019 the new Viva Vision canopy was installed over Fremont Street. This new canopy is seven times brighter and has four times the resolution of the old canopy. One of the best parts of this bright, new canopy is that it can show during daylight hours as well as in the evening, although the show is most spectacular in the evening. If you are feeling adventurous, you can even zipline the length of Fremont Street under this amazing new canopy!

Up until recently many travelers preferred to stay on The Strip for it’s fantastic resort hotels. The Golden Nugget was really the only resort Downtown that was comparable to those on The Strip. The Tank Pool at the Golden Nugget is one of the coolest in Las Vegas with it’s massive aquarium featuring hundreds of fish and six species of sharks!

On October 8th, Downtown Las Vegas opened the newest resort, Circa. Circa is a resort hotel on Fremont Street that easily rivals those on The Strip. Circa boasts the largest sports betting experience in the world with a 3-story sportsbook that is sure to impress the sports fans in your travel party.

World’s Largest Sportsbook at Circa

In addition to the sportsbook, Circa is home to many of the amazing amenities that are found at the resorts on The Strip. They have Stadium Swim which includes six pools on three different levels and a 40-foot tall high-definition screen showing the best games of the day. The pool area has tables and cabanas to reserve, selfie walls, and swim-up pool bars that will make you want to spend the whole day. The casino at Circa is large and high energy with great music and a fun vibe that will keep you entertained while you try your luck. With five restaurants, a coffee bar, and several themed bars, you can relax and enjoy without ever leaving the hotel. With a great location right on Fremont Street, you can exit the hotel and enjoy the canopy and entertainment of the Fremont Street Experience.

Downtown Las Vegas is still home to some of the most nostalgic venues in Las Vegas including Binion’s where you can see, and take a picture with, $1 million on display! The oldest casino in Las Vegas, The Golden Gate, is located on Fremont Street and is home to some of the lowest limit table games in the city. Other great attractions located Downtown are the Neon Museum and the Mob Museum. The area has fabulous new eateries like Carson Kitchen on 6th Street and 8 East at Circa as well as old favorites like Andiamo Steakhouse at the D, you will never want for a fantastic meal. And, with The Strip just a short Uber ride away, you can still visit your favorites there as well.
