Getting to explore the Disney Magic while she was in port in NYC was incredible. From the moment you step into the cruise terminal, you will notice the Disney difference. The Cast Members greet you with excitement and assist with embarking & security procedures. As you cross the gangway and step aboard, your cruise staff welcomes you with a red carpet entrance. I got to visit the Magic as she was sailing on the Halloween on the High Seas itinerary, so the main atrium was decorated and adorned with Halloween décor.

The Disney Magic celebrates every Holiday on board!

Through the hallways, each stateroom is pristine- with attention to detail being a priority.  Most staterooms can accommodate a family of 4, but some staterooms can even accommodate larger families of 5 or 6 with sofa beds, murphy style beds and pullman beds. Rooms are spacious, with most rooms having a split bathroom. This makes getting ready much easier & faster in the mornings! Storage and closest space is plentiful, and the bed is high enough that you can slide your suitcase underneath and not have to worry about it until disembarkation!

You will never go hungry on any cruise, and that is still true on Disney’s ships. Disney is known for their rotational dining. Rotational dining is where guests will get to eat dinner at each of the themed dining rooms, but their servers will follow with them. For instance, on the first night, you may be scheduled to eat at Animator’s Palate, and night two, you would be scheduled for Lumiere’s. Both are completely different themed dining rooms, but your servers will remain the same, which is a great way to connect with your services and receive a higher level of personalized service.

On board the Disney Magic, the main dining rooms are: Animator’s Palate, Lumiere’s and Rupunzel’s Royal Table. Quick service eateries include: Duck-in-diner, Eye Scream Treats, Pinocchio’s Pizzeria, and of course, Cabana’s buffet area! Soft drinks are complimentary on Disney cruises! Guests can find fountain soda machines on the pool deck and can also get soda for free with dinner! Don’t forget, that room service on Disney Cruise Line is completely complimentary!

There is certainly no shortage of entertainment & activities on a Disney cruise. Broadway style shows are performed each and every night in the Walt Disney Theatre. Disney is known for their movie premieres, which means if Frozen 2 was being released on a Friday in theaters, Disney will be able to play that brand new movie on their ships the same day!! From character meet & greets, to deck parties and fireworks at sea, Disney has activities to keep the family busy for days! For the adults, Disney has you covered too! At night, Disney hosts adult-themed trivia, magic shows, couple’s game shows and more. These are held in the three adult only venues on the ship- Fathom’s, Crown & Fin and Keys Piano Bar! Adults can always take their own retreat to the adult only pool area or relax in the Rainforest room, a secret gem inside Senses Spa!

Adults may find they have more time alone than they expected on the Disney Magic. Children tend to visit the various kids’ clubs on the first day of sailing, and never want to leave them!! The Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab have activities and entertainment for the children to enjoy all day long. From games to arts & crafts to meeting new friends, children ages 3-12 can not seem to get enough of these areas. For those older children, 11-14 year old children can hang in the cool Edge Club. Here, they can meet other kids their age all while watching movies, playing games or making arts & crafts. Housed inside the ships red funnel is Vibe, the teen club for kids ages 14-17. This is a more laid back, chill “vibe” where they can interact and hang with their new friends!

Disney Cruises sure are a blast for adults and children alike! When you take the magic from the parks & resorts and combine it with the laid back cruise atmosphere, you have the perfect recipe for a Disney cruise. It is truly like no other and I can not wait to help you plan & book your next Disney cruise!
